Issue at #F-Droid is resolved. There will be a new #MediLog release v3.6.3 which is primarily a technical release for F-Droid. If you get MediLog from any other source there is no urgency to upgrade.Tooted on Thursday, 12 February 2026 10:36

New #MediLog release v3.6.2 is available as of now. As usual a few bug fixes and finally the long asked for feature to create a pdf of a chart so one can print or send it on.
For some reason F-Droid has not yet picked up the previous v3.6.0 release, let alone this one. Need to investigate

#MediLog v3.6.0 is available as of now. Aside from a few bug fixes this release introduces custom emojis / themes and support for changing the language for MediLog independently from the OS language.
v3.6.0 is also the release which will start moving off encrypted databases. If your db is encrypted v3.6.0 will automatically migrate to an unencrypted one upon first launch.
Ever since Android introduced default file system encryption the database encryption on top of the OS was mostly pointless. This change will significantly reduce app complexity for me and the size of the installation for you.

Dear friends of MediLog, I need to phase out database encryption in MediLog because, a, ever since Android encrypts local content it's not offering any real value any longer, b, db encryption comes with significant complexity and dramatically larger installation files (APKs).
Unfortunately switching the database from encrypted to unencrypted is a bit of a process, and a highly delicate one as well.
To broaden my testing I created a beta of v3.6.0 which will create an encrypted database during installation and will convert the database to unencrypted whenever the app is launched a second time.
Therefore could as many as possible please…
1. run a backup in your production MediLog installation
2. install the beta next to production -> verify database shows as encrpted in About/Security
3. import your backup
4. restart the beta -> verify all data isstill there and the db shows as unencrypted in About/Security
Depending on the amount of data the conversion may take a second or 2.
