Ziel
-
Primärziele
-
Den Zugang zu öffentlicher Kunst erleichtern.

-
-
Nutzer motivieren, fehlende Informationen in OpenStreetMap und Wikipedia beizutragen.

The last #PublicArtExplorer release is only a few days old but new ideas keep on coming up :-)
I noticed that I often come accross wiki tags with a full url. Like this one "artist:wikipedia=https.wikipedia.org/wiki/%2F%2Fde.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FRobert_Schad"
Now, as far as I know storing wiki* references like this is discouraged and people should rather use the wiki' tags, e.g.: "de:Robert_Schad"
Of similar nature is image tags like "image=https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josef_Nadj_(Bildhauer)#/media/Datei:Oggelshausen_Nadj_5.jpg" which really should be
"wikimedia_commons=File:Oggelshausen_Nadj_5.jpg"?
Given that I want to be a good #OpenStreetMap citizen I can have PublicArtExplorer automatically convert such tags and allow for a little clean up alongside recording and updating new artworks. But before I do so I thought I'd put this out to the #OSM folks following this account.

#PublicArtExplorer v2.3.0 adds a few usability improvements for regular users and closes a few logic breaks and bugs for artwork mappers.
Users:
- Show a pin when searching for an address or coordinates
- Fixed the "image loading" indicator
- Image tags with a fully resolved url didn't work
Mappers:
- Allow to add changeset notes before uploading to OSM
- Take-photo button didn't do anything
- Simplified Upload-Dashboard ui
- You can now send an image from your gallery to PublicArtExplorer to create a new artwork from photos you have taken outside of PublicArtExplorer
- Added support for creating memorials
- New artworks with special characters in a tag failed to upload

Google has now released v2.2.0 as well, just in time for v2.2.1 which fixes a small "oopsy". The OpenStreetMap attribution was hidden in v2.2.0 by accident. Significant enough to warrant a release. Sorry...Tooted on Sonntag, 20. September 2026 12:20
